In an announcement Friday, the Great Falls Rescue Mission stated Kizer’s last day is June 17.

“Jim Kizer is truly an exceptional leader in our community,” the Mission’s release states. “He will be greatly missed as he spends more time with his wife and grown children.”

The press release states that under Kizer’s leadership, the Great Falls Rescue Mission grew significantly to meet the increasing needs of the community and surrounding areas. He also served as Chaplain for the Great Falls Police Department and as a member of Rotary.

The press release states:

“Jim Kizer’s vision and commitment to meet those needs launched a $9.3 million capital campaign in order to build the Great Falls Rescue Mission Cameron Family Center, which opened in January 2017. The capacity to provide shelter for the homeless then doubled and over 51 families have since obtained permanent housing. The Rescue Mission now serves on average 220 people on a daily basis.”

“The Lord has richly blessed the Great Falls Rescue Mission beyond any dream or vision that I had when I began back in 2009,” Kizer stated. “I am very thankful with how the Lord has directed and prepared the Rescue Mission for the change in leadership. Our focus on transforming the hungry, hurting and homeless through Jesus Christ’s love has not changed and will not change.”

The Rescue Mission Board of Directors unanimously agreed Thursday to appoint Jim McCormick as the next executive director. McCormick has served as the Mission’s operations director since 2014.

The press release states McCormick’s qualifications, leadership skills, work ethic, and expertise will lead the Great Falls Rescue Mission into the future. He will assume executive director duties on June 18.
