Amanda Jayne Walton has been charged in Great Falls after she allegedly stole merchandise from Ulta.

Court documents state that on Saturday, November 23rd, at about 6:25 p.m., Walton was in the store and placed several items in a shopping bag. When she saw no employees were in the vicinity of the door, after watching for a while, she walked out without paying for the items.

A nearby man - who is a former Havre police officer - heard a "commotion" and confronted Walton in the parking lot and tried to detain her. Walton resisted and began fighting with him, according to the court documents. The man sustained abrasions to his hand and thumb.

The dollar value of the items is estimated at $1,300.

The court documents state that Walton has convictions for disorderly conduct, criminal endangerment, obstructing justice, and theft, and at the time of Saturday's incident, there was a warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in Justice Court.

Walton has been charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor theft (2nd offense).

Prosecutors requested that bond for Walton be set at $10,000.
