Stronger wind is expected to return to Montana this afternoon and skies will begin to clear.
The wind will continue to boost the air temperatures today, with most areas reaching the low 50s by this afternoon.
Still warmer temperatures are on track for Friday, the trade off however will be more wind.
A High Wind Watch is set to go into effect Friday morning for the Northern Rocky Mountain Front, Eastern Glacier,
Cascade, Toole, Eastern Pondera, Southern Rocky Mountain Front, Eastern Teton, and Judith Basin counties.
Sustained winds from the southwest are expected to range from 25 to 40 mph with gusts around 60 mph.
Gusts up to 80 mph are possible along the immediate vicinity of the Eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountain Front.
Part of the reason for the strong wind is because of a passing cold front.
This front may kick off a few mountain flurries and spotty showers along the front.
At this point it does not appear to be anything of concern, however travel through the mountains may be a bit strained early Saturday throughout Southwestern Montana.
A strong high pressure is on track to move inland on Sunday.
This pressure system will continue to drive temperatures through the first portion of next week.
Forecast models are suggesting that we'll reach the low 60s early next week.
