Friday is quite a bit nicer than Saturday is going to be.
Temperatures have soared to record levels in spots, including Great Falls, Helena, and Cut Bank.
Saturday isn't looking as warm, as a cold front will be slowly creeping through the state.
The front will push into Northern Montana by Saturday morning, but will then stall, not pushing southward again until late Saturday afternoon.
This will allow places south of the front to still see mild temperatures, but places north of the front, like Cut Bank, will see highs only in the lower 30s.
As the front moves through the state, a wintry mix of rain and snow is expected, with brief periods of freezing rain possible, especially north of Great Falls.
Snow may be intense at times, but little accumulation is expected, especially with ground temperatures well above freezing.
In addition to the cold front, we'll also be tracking the potential for flooding in Northeast Montana.
Melting snow will continue to contribute to small stream flooding in parts of Phillips and Valley County, and the Milk River is at minor flood stage thanks to an ice jam.
