After a fairly long stretch of mostly dry weather, snow is once again in the forecast.

We're already starting to see the snow in Western Montana this Wednesday afternoon.

Mountain snow will become more widespread Wednesday night.

Snow, and possibly a rain snow mix, will begin to fall in southwest Montana on Thursday afternoon, with snow pushing northeast Thursday night.

Snow will taper off Friday, and clearing is expected by Friday afternoon.

Places like Helena and Lewistown can expect between 2 and 5 inches of snow, with around 1 to 3 inches for Great Falls.

Most of the Hi-Line and Eastern Montana will see little to no snow.

The mountains of central, western, and southern Montana will be the hardest hit.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect above 5,500 feet.

Snow totals between 1 and 2 feet are expected.
