Winds have really picked up over the region today and that will only continue as we head into the weekend.
A High Wind Warning is in effect for the Northern and Southern Rocky Mountain front and adjacent plains. Some gusts could top 70 mph right along the mountains, with areas further East up to 60 mph.
The high winds could create blowing and drifting snow over roadways, perhaps even causing some lane blockages. Drive safe and allow plenty of time to get to your destination.
Temperatures will moderate even further next week with many areas seeing highs in the fifties.
