Snow has begun to taper off for many of us in our viewing area. Helena and Great Falls still have a possibility of getting an additional 1"-2" overnight into tomorrow morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 2 PM Monday for these areas.

The big weather story now will be the bitterly cold wind chills approaching -30 to -40 as we head into the work week. High temperatures will mainly be in the single digits below zero for most, however Helena will be a little warmer with highs mostly in the single digits above zero.

We currently have Wind Chill Advisories in effect as well as a Wind Chill Warning for far Northeastern Montana. Frost bite can occur in as little as 10 minutes with this hazardous cold. The type of cold can be life threatening if caught outdoors without proper protection. Roads are still hazardous in many areas, so please drive safe and make sure you have an emergency kit just in case you become stranded.

This bitterly cold arctic air will remain in place for most of the week, so make sure to dress warm, limit outdoor time if you can, and cover any exposed skin if you must be out.
