Snow and cold Thursday

Snow will be falling, and so will our temperatures

It's been a warm, windy Wednesday.

The same will not be true about Thursday.

A cold front will begin to move into the state Wednesday evening, and will have cleared all of North Central Montana by Thursday afternoon.

The front will bring some of the coldest air we've seen in a while.

For most of North Central Montana, temperatures will peak at midnight on Thursday, and will be in the teens and 20s, before falling into the teens or even single digits by Thursday afternoon.

Helena will be a bit warmer, falling into the lower 20s in the morning, and warming into the upper 20s by the afternoon.

The cold air will also bring us some snow.

On and off snow showers are expected Wednesday night through Thursday night.

Places like Great Falls, Helena, and Cut Bank may pick up an inch or two, with two to four inches near Lewistown.

Heavier snow is expected in the mountains as usual.

Looking ahead, this cold front appears to be a taste of what's to come.

Seriously cold air will settle into the state next week.
