Records Shattered Today

Weekend to Remain Cold
Posted
and last updated

After a night of frigid temperatures and wind chills near -60 in some areas, many of us are looking to next week for some relief. Lewistown broke a record that was over a century old, while Great Falls and Cut Bank broke 84 year old records.

The warmer air is on the way, but first we have to make it through the weekend with most in our viewing area still under a wind chill warning through Sunday morning. Wind Chills again could be near the -50 mark tonight and Saturday night.

By next week our temperatures will begin to moderate once again, but with warmer temperatures comes the potential for gusty winds. This could create an issue with blowing snow and reduced visibility, but for now we'll focus on the weekend and continue to monitor what next week might bring.
