Winds have picked up Thursday, and temperatures have increased too.
The wind is doing more than just warming us up.
Strong gusts have lead to blowing and drifting snow along the Rocky Mountain Front, and some areas of blowing dust northeast of Great Falls.
Those issues will be present Friday as well, when winds will be slightly stronger.
In addition to gusty winds on Friday, temperatures will be warm, in the 40s and even 50s, and the air will be very dry.
Those conditions will combine to increase our fire danger, especially in areas with little snow cover where dead, dry grasses are exposed.
The highest fire danger will be around and north of Great Falls.
Fires will start and spread easily in this area.
