Light rain is beginning to fall this Tuesday afternoon, and heavier rain is set to follow.
Steady bands of rain are expected to set up Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
For most of us skies will dry up by Wednesday afternoon, but for much of Eastern and Northeastern Montana rain will linger as late as Thursday morning.
Rain totals will likely be in the half inch to one inch range for places like Great Falls and Helena.
Heavier rains in Northeast Montana, coupled with already saturated ground, will make flooding possible.
There, an Areal Flood Watch is in effect from 6am Wednesday until Noon Thursday.

Latest river forecasts show the increase in runoff will cause water levels to rise, and show that flooding will be possible along the Milk River and some of it's tributaries.
