Monday will start out windy once again with gusts around 20 to 30 mph for Central Montana.
The wind will taper off as the day progresses and temperature are on track to reach the mid 50s for most.
Unfortunately the mild weather will take a turn for the worst late this evening.
Pacific moisture and colder air will invade the state overnight, opening the door for a rain and snow mixture on Tuesday.
This wintry mix will transition to snow throughout the day.
Forecast models have been very inconsistent with the snow totals associated with this incoming system.
Confidence is building on a heavy band or two of snow setting up from St. Mary to Augusta.
This area will likely see decent snow accumulation around 3 to 6 inches.
The immediate vicinity of the front will likely see much more snow and the mountains in this region could see in upwards of a foot.
There is a strong possibility that this heavy band of snow will travel across the Hi-Line through Wednesday morning.
With that said I am anticipating Havre to Glasgow will see more snow than the majority of the state in the terms of snow.
Most of Central Montana should see around 2 to 4 inches through Wednesday.
