The first wave of arctic air will invade Montana on Thursday.

This air mass will drop daytime high temperatures to the teens and twenties for most of the state.

Snow is also expected throughout Central Montana, although most area should pick up less than an inch through Thursday.

A brief ridge of high pressure will allow for temperatures to stay in the low 30s on Friday and Saturday.

This ridge will break down Saturday night causing even colder air to invade.

This second round of cold air will drop high temperatures well below zero to start out the work week.

Flurries are also expected through the first half of next week.
