Temperatures climb as we enter a new workweek

Monday morning forecast with Jason Laird

and last updated

Thanks to an incoming high pressure ridge, temperatures are on track to climb though Wednesday.

The work week will start out mild with highs in the high 70s and very little wind.

Strong high pressure will allow for temperature to reach the mid to high 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The mostly sunny skies are expected to give way to a few showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening.

As this system approaches more wind is likely Wednesday afternoon.

This incoming weather system will break down the high pressure ridge and allow for a few storms through Thursday.

Temperatures will drop pretty drastically as this system moves in with highs on Thursday struggling to reach the low 70s.

Despite the cool down, highs are expected to return to the high 70s by Friday.
