and last updated

Overall Friday is shaping up to be relatively dry with just a few spotty showers along the leading edge of a passing cold front.

The best chances for showers will be this afternoon, primarily along the Hi-Line and from Helena to Lewistown.

Storms that do kick off aren't expected to be overly strong in nature.

The main impact of this passing front will be gusty and sporadic winds.

Wind gusts in upwards of 35 mph are likely for most of Central Montana.

Occasionally stronger wind gusts are likely in the immediate vicinity of the Rocky Mountain Front.

Temperatures will remain in the high 70s for most.

Saturday will also be breezy and mild with highs in the upper 70s.

Sunday is trending toward the warmest day in our extended forecast, with highs well into the 80s.

Rain is expected to return to Montana on Tuesday of next week.
