Colder air will continue to settle in across Montana allowing for temperatures to trend more average today.

Highs this afternoon are expected to range in the low to mid 30s for most.

The wind is expected to pick back up on Wednesday.

Gusts around 30 to 40 mph are likely for a good portion of the state with stronger wind along the front.

Scattered mountain flurries are also likely on Wednesday, however the wind will keep this moisture from reaching the lower elevations.

Another cold front is on track to drop into Montana on Thursday.

Although it is anticipated to drop temperatures slightly, the strong down sloping wind will compensate for this and keep temperatures above average.

This incoming front will increase the chances for mountain snow but once again the lower elevations will miss out.

Forecast models are suggesting that stronger wind will return on Friday.

This increase in the wind will drive temperatures well into the 30s and 40s.

Both Saturday and Sunday are trending in the mid to high 40s for daytime highs with strong wind.

The windy and mild temperatures are expected to extend into next week.
