High pressure, clear skies, and some wind will allow for temperatures to climb well above average as we near the weekend.
Daytime highs are expected to reach the upper 40s and low 50s throughout Central Montana this afternoon.
Northeastern Montana will remain a bit chilly with highs in the upper 30s.
As we well know, the warmer temperatures come at a price here in the Treasure State; that being the wind.
Sustained winds are expected to range from 15 to 20 mph with gusts around 30 mph today.
Gusts over 40 mph will be a possibility along the immediate vicinity of the Rocky Mountain Front.
Temperatures will remain very mild again on Friday.
Forecast models are suggesting that the wind will die down a tad bit tomorrow.
The high pressure ridge that has allowed for the mild weather conditions is expected to stick around this weekend.
This system will allow for highs to remain in the upper 40s and low 50s in Central Montana.
The stronger wind is also expected to stick with us through the first portion of next week.
An incoming area of low pressure is expected to begin breaking down this ridge early next week.
As of now forecast models are anticipating that this system will move in Tuesday night.
Rain, snow, and a temperature drop are likely as this area of low pressure passes through the state.
