Stronger thunderstorms are on track to impact Central Montana Tuesday afternoon.

The day will start out a bit cloudy with highs climbing to the high 60s.

Forecast models are anticipating that storms will begin kicking up around 2:00 pm.

Cloud cover will play a big roll in storm development this afternoon.

If the skies do manage to clear up briefly stronger storms will develop.

If we don't get a break in the clouds early this afternoon, we'll still see storms just not quite as strong.

Thunderstorms this afternoon will be capable of producing large hail, damaging wind, and heavy periods of rain.

A few lingering storms will take us through the night into Wednesday morning.

The other concern over the next 24hrs will be rapid snow melt.

Heavier rain is likely along the Rocky Mountain Front which will enhance the snow melt in this area.

Temperatures will begin to cool on Wednesday and another round of storms are likely.

The stormy pattern will begin to move out on Thursday.

More sun and warming temperatures are on track for the weekend.
