Another round of very strong wind is on tap late this afternoon as a cold front pushes through the state.

Cloudy skies will blanket the state as today's weather maker tracks our way.

Highs are expected to reach the high 60s before much colder air moves in later this afternoon.

As this cold front tracks through the state wind gusts around 50 to 60 mph are very likely.

The strongest wind is expected early this evening and overnight.

A High Wind Warning is scheduled to go into effect at 8:00pm this evening for all of Central Montana.

Temperatures will trend about ten degrees cooler on Wednesday as this colder air settles in.

Some snow is possible above 5,000 feet on Wednesday as this cold front moves in.

Most areas above 5,000 feet will pick up 2 to 5 inches with isolated areas seeing up to 8 inches.

The wind will remain strong on Wednesday eventually letting up a bit as the day plays out.

Temperatures will rebound slightly on Thursday and Friday.

The high 40s are expected on Thursday with highs in the upper 50s on Friday.

Weather conditions will take a turn for the worse this weekend as a batch of Arctic air settles in over the state.

The colder air is expected to move in early on Saturday allowing for highs to remain in the 30s and low 40s for most.

Overnight lows are looking to trend in the upper teens through the first part of next week.

Rain and some snow is likely on Saturday with a better chance for snow early Sunday.

The rather cold temperatures are on track to stick around through the first portion of next week.
