A significant dip in the jet stream is still allowing for chilly air to reside over Montana.
The good news is that a small ridge of high pressure will help to change up this pattern and move the cold air out of the state.
We'll begin to see slightly warmer temperatures this afternoon, likely in the mid 40s for most of Central Montana.
Thursday will be still warmer with highs in the low to mid 50s.
The high pressure system that offered up the boost in temperatures will break down on Friday due to an incoming cold front.
This system will draw some moisture into the state and keep daytime highs a bit cooler on Friday.
The mountains will likely see some snow with the passage of this system.
The Foothills and plains can expect a wintry mix and rain.
Temperatures will gradually warm on Saturday and spike on Sunday.
A much stronger high pressure ridge will move in on Sunday, allowing for temperatures to once again reach the 60s through Tuesday.
