Temperatures are on the rise but so is the chance for stronger thunderstorms.

Brisk wind is expected today with highs in the low 70s for most.

Much like Tuesday, most of the state will remain dry early in the day.

Late this afternoon a cold front will push through Montana increasing the chances for stronger thunderstorms.

Most of the storms are expected to kick up around Helena and track to the northeast.

Some storms will be capable of producing small hail, strong wind and heavy periods of rain.

More sun and mild conditions are on tap for Thursday with occasional gusty winds.

Friday and Saturday will remain relatively mild, however afternoon thunderstorms are a possibility.

Storms this weekend are expected to remain scattered in nature and not significant enough to mess with 4th of July plans.

Sunday will present a better chance for more widespread storms during the afternoon.

Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 80s are expected early next week.
