Temperatures will return to the mid 40s this afternoon as stronger wind takes over Montana.

Sustained winds around 15 to 20 mph are likely with occasional gusts around 30 mph.

Stronger gusts are expected along the immediate vicinity of the Rocky Mountain Front.

As mentioned the temperatures are on track to climb just above average this afternoon thanks in part to the wind.

Daytime high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 40s on Wednesday.

Slightly gustier conditions are likely early in the day as a weak cold front pushes through the state.

A brief round of light snow is possible mid morning for the Capitol with the passage of this system.

The mountains will have a better chance of picking up a light dusting of snow Wednesday morning.

Thanksgiving is shaping up to relatively average temperatures wise.

The wind look sot continue but should let up a bit compared to Wednesday.

A stronger ridge of high pressure will build as we head into the weekend.

This will allow for daytime highs to reach the upper 40s on Friday and Saturday.

A weak cold front will beat up on this ridge a bit on Saturday.

The main impact with the passage of this front will be windy conditions and possibly a few mountain flurries.

Temperatures are on track to remain just above average through Tuesday of next week.

Forecast models are hinting at a possible weather maker Monday afternoon.

At this point it appears some snow and colder temperatures are possible toward the middle of next week.
