and last updated

Temperatures remain above average on Thursday with more smoke on the horizon.

A strong high pressure ridge is expected to remain camped out over the state through the weekend.

This pressure system will continue to keep us mostly dry and hot through Monday of next week.

A light breezy on Thursday will continue to pull more smoke into the region.

The majority of the smoke is from the west coast with fires in Western Montana adding to the haze.

Due to the high pressure and smoke, air quality levels will likely deteriorate over the next few days.

This weekend it trending hot and dry with just the slightest potential for spotty storms.

An incoming area of low pressure is expected to bring more average temperatures by Wednesday of next week.
