More wind for Montana

Yet another round of strong wind will blow through the state over the next few days. Wind gusts will top 50mph across much of the state, but the Rocky Mountain Front could have gusts topping hurricane force. Thursday will certainly be another bad hair day with strong wind across most of the state yet again. Skies will be mostly cloudy with late day snow showers over the western mountains. Highs will be in the 30s and low 40s.

Friday will have scattered snow showers and strong west wind. Average wind speeds will be between 20-40mph. A light accumulation of snow is possible in the lower elevations with the mountains picking up a few inches. Highs will be in the 30s to around 40.

Saturday, a Canadian front will move through the state with a period of snow. Up to 2" is possible in the lower elevations. The wind will not be as bad behind the front. Highs will be colder in the 10s up north, to the 20s and 30s farther south. Saturday night will be cold with many places falling into the 0s and 10s. Extreme northeast Montana could drop into the -10s.

Sunday will be partly cloudy and windy again with highs in the 30s and 40s.

Monday, the first day of March, will be windy and mild with highs in the 40s. A few snow showers are possible late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Most of the first week of March will be quiet and mild with highs in the 40s to near 50.

Have a great day.
