Wednesday morning forecast with Jason Laird

High pressure remains the talking point as we head through the work week.

Thanks to this ridge of high pressure, temperatures will continue to climb through Thursday.

Highs today are expected to reach the low 80s in Central Montana and the high 80s in the plains.

Thursday will be still hotter with daytime temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s

An incoming cold front will move this ridge of high pressure on it's way late Friday.

A few showers and thunderstorms are likely Friday afternoon and evening with the passage of this system.

Following this front, temperatures will gradually cool through the weekend.

Scattered afternoon storms will remain a possibility Saturday through Monday.

Early forecast models are hinting at an even stronger high pressure ridge next week.

If this pans out as expected, highs next week will trend well into the 80s.
