A strong high pressure ridge will camp out over Montana this week offering up record heat throughout the state.
Temperatures on Monday are expected to reach the high 90s in Central Montana.
The Hi-Line and Northeastern Montana will be still hotter with highs in the triple digits.
Due to the extreme heat the National Weather Service does have a Heat Advisory in place for North Central Montana and the Eastern Plains.
Over all the wind is expected to remain pretty light this week; however, a slight increase in the wind is expected around Cut Bank and Shelby.
In anticipation of these conditions the National Weather Service has a Fire Weather Watch set to go into effect Tuesday evening.
This Watch will cover portions of Glacier, Toole, Liberty, and Pondera Counties.
Despite a few spotty and isolated storms; this week is expected to remain mostly dry.
Thursday will offer up the best potential for isolated storms in our area.
Forecast models are suggesting a slightly cooler weekend following this record heat.
