Arctic air will continue to settle in throughout Montana early this week.

Most areas in North Central Montana will remain below zero through Thursday.

Any amount of wind on top of these already frigid temperatures will cause dangerously cold wind chills.

Exercise caution when spending any amount of time outdoors this week.

Temperatures will remain a bit warmer the further south you travel in the state.

Helena for instance is expected to remain in the teens and twenties for daytime highs.

Some snow is expected through Wednesday, although most areas will only pick up a trace.

Forecast models are suggesting this arctic air mass will begin moving out on Friday.

Temperatures look to return to seasonal averages this coming weekend.
