Following a chilly morning daytime highs will reach the upper 40s once again on Thursday.

The wind will remain brisk but not as strong as what we've seen up until this point.

Temperatures will continue to climb on Friday reaching the mid 50s.

The trade off is more wind again with gusts around 35 mph.

Weather conditions will take a turn for the worse this weekend as a batch of Arctic Air settles in over the state.

The colder air is expected to move in Friday afternoon dropping temperatures significantly by Saturday.

Rain will transition to a wintry mix late in the day Friday and eventually turn to snow over night.

Flurries are expected to continue through Saturday and eventually begin tapering off on Sunday.

From Friday through Sunday forecast models are suggesting 5 to 8 inches are possible from Great Falls to Lewistown north to the Hi-Line.

Havre could see up to 5 inches with around 3 inches toward Glasgow.

For Helena 3 to 5 inches are possible.

Overnight lows are looking to trend in the low 20s through the first portion of next week.

Forecast models are hinting at slightly warmer temperatures on Tuesday.
