We're tracking one more mild day before temperatures begin to fall off the charts Thursday.

Highs on Wednesday will reach the low to mid 40s for most of Central Montana.

A few lingering mountain flurries remain a likelihood throughout the day.

The first wave of arctic air will invade Montana Wednesday evening.

As this cold air mass drops into the state, more widespread flurries are expected.

Flurries will likely continue Thursday morning.

Accumulation in the plains is expected to be less than two inches for most.

We'll see a slight rebound in temperatures on Friday and Saturday thanks to a high pressure ridge.

Following the brief break from the extreme cold, even colder air will move into Montana early next week.

This will cause for highs temperatures to stay below zero degrees.
