As clouds build over the state on Thursday, temperatures will trend slightly cooler compared to Wednesday.

An incoming cold front is on track to meet up with a moisture flow from the south Pacific this afternoon.

These elements combined with the daytime heat will allow for strong and possibly severe thunderstorms during the afternoon.

Storms should begin picking up near Helena around 2p - 3p in the afternoon.

From there, they are expected to track along the Rocky Mountain Front, likely impacting the Great Falls region between 3p - 6p in the afternoon.

The storms will continue to track northeast making their way through Havre around 7p.

The remainder of the work week through the weekend will trend more on track with average with highs in the low to mid 80s.

A few spotty showers are possible once again on Saturday afternoon with the passage of a weak cold front.

Strong high pressure is once again on track to move in next week, pushing temperatures into the 90s.
