Temperatures will trend about 10 degrees below average on Monday. Cloudy skies will blanket much the of the state early in the day and clear up slightly this afternoon.
A few lingering early morning showers are also likely, primarily in southwestern Montana. Helena may see a quick splash and dash shower before the noon hour.
Daytime highs are expected to remain in the mid to high 60s for most on Monday. The wind will begin picking up late in the day and increase overnight.
These strong upper level winds will continue to mix down to the surface on tomorrow. This will allow for wind gusts around 30 to 40 mph on Tuesday.
The strong wind, low humidity levels, and hotter temperatures will cause for a higher fire danger.
Due to the elevated fire danger, The National Weather Service has a Fire Weather Warning scheduled to go into effect Tuesday at noon for a majority of Montana.
Even stronger wind is likely on Wednesday with still hotter temperatures. Wind gusts over 50 mph are possible Wednesday afternoon, especially along the Rocky Mountain Front.
A weak cold front will cool temperatures a bit on Thursday, however the wind will likely still remain prominent.
Much like this past weekend, Saturday is expected to remain mild with the highs in the mid 80s.
Sunday looks to offer up cooler temperatures with highs in the low 70s.
