A little less wind is expected for Christmas in turn leading to slightly cooler temperatures today.
Although cooler daytime high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 40s which is still well above average.
Unfortunately no snow is expected on Christmas Day; however, that looks to change this weekend.
An incoming low pressure system is on track to break down the high pressure ridge .
Forecast models are suggesting that a few flurries are possible as this system tracks into the state on Saturday.
Highs will peak in the upper 30s and low 40s on Saturday, before dropping off in the evening.
The reason for the more significant temperature drop is due to a Canadian cold front which is on track to move in overnight.
As this front settles in there will be a better chance for snow throughout the state.
A few lingering flurries are possible on Sunday; however, the overall snow accumulation is expected to be minimal.
Most locations will only see one to three inches of snow through Sunday.
Lewistown will likely see closer to three to five inches.
Colder air will continue to filter in from Canada as we enter a new work week.
This will keep temperatures in the 20s and 30s which is much more on track with average.
