Strong winds have warranted the National Weather Service to issue a High Wind Warning for areas along the Rocky Mountain Front.
This Warning includes Glacier County and portions of Pondera, Teton, and Lewis and Clark counties.
Wind gusts as high as 70 mph are possible along the immediate vicinity of the front.
Most areas in the highlighted region will experience sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph out of the Southwest.
Mountain flurries are likely through the first portion of the day as a cold front passes through the state.
A few of these flurries may make their way into the lower elevations south of Great Falls.
Helena will have the best chance of seeing some snow early in the the day.
Daytime high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 40s this afternoon.
Thanksgiving is shaping up to relatively average temperature wise.
The wind looks to continue but should let up a bit compared to Wednesday.
A stronger ridge of high pressure will build as we head into the weekend.
This will allow for daytime highs to reach the upper 40s on Friday and Saturday.
A weak cold front will beat up on this ridge a bit on Saturday.
This will allow for slightly cooler temperatures on Sunday.
The main impact with the passage of this front will be windy conditions and possibly a few mountain flurries.
Temperatures are on track to remain just above average through Tuesday of next week.
Forecast models have backed off on the potential for snow next week.
As of now weather conditions similar to this week are expected for next week.
