Temperatures this week are expected to trend just above average before cooling as we head into the weekend.
Recent rain followed by breezy conditions will help to keep skies a bit more clear on Monday. Sustained winds around 10 to 15 mph are likely today with occasional gusts around 20 mph. Temperatures will range in the mid to high 70s this afternoon.
Incoming high pressure will push temperatures back into the high 70s by Wednesday. As this ridge builds, stronger wind is expected to stick around. The wind combined with hotter temperatures will likely increase the fire danger on Wednesday.
Cooler air will begin to invade on Thursday. This will drop temperatures to the low 70s and mid 60s by Friday which is more on track with average. As this cooler air moves in a few shower are possible on Thursday and Friday, primarily in the mountains.
Forecast models are suggesting that a strong ridge of high pressure will rebuild early next week. This pressure system will have the potential to drive temperature well above average by Wednesday.
