We start off the week watching areas of rain and snow moving in from the southwest.
Multiple slow-moving systems will impact the area through the end of the week.
Rain (lower elevations) and snow (upper elevations) will become widespread across North-Central and Southwest Montana this afternoon through Wednesday evening.
Precipitation totals will grow quickly Tuesday-Wednesday.
Snow totals in elevations above 6,000 feet in Cascade, Meagher, and Judith Basin counties could reach over one foot by Thursday afternoon.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for these areas until Wednesday afternoon.
Flooding concerns are back on the table with this week’s weather systems.
New snow will quickly melt out of the mountains and add to the already high runoff amounts from the rain in lower elevations.
