Strong winds will continue through the remainder of the evening. A High Wind Warning remains in effect through Sunday for much of north central and central portions of the state.
Winds gusts have exceeded 90 miles per hour late today just south of East Glacier Park.
Travel will be difficult in these areas with the highest risks along the Rocky Mountain Front. Winds could also possibly blow down trees and power lines.
Temperatures will remain steady throughout the evening and into tomorrow morning before starting to really drop in the afternoon.
This could result in a possibly flash freeze tomorrow afternoon.
A strong cold front will make its way across the state tomorrow which will bring in a drop in temperatures and widespread snow.
Strong west winds will taper off but the cold front will bring breezy northerly winds.
Winter Weather Advisories go into effect for areas of north central and central Montana tomorrow morning as well as a Winter Storm Watch for the northern and southern Rocky Mountain Front.
The main issue will be falling and blowing snow which will impact travel and significantly drop the visibility at times.
Snow showers will continue through early Sunday night before tapering off sometime overnight.
New Year’s Eve looks to be mostly dry but cold with afternoon high temperatures in the teens and twenties.
