Winds calming down

Posted
and last updated

We’ve seen a bit of winter weather and some strong wind gusts this Friday.

Both of those will be changing Saturday.

Winds die down by Friday night, and remain fairly calm Saturday.

Gusts in general will be under 30 miles per hour.

Winds remain light through the weekend and into next week.

In addition to calm winds, lots of sunshine is expected as high pressure builds in.

Temperatures will be a bit cooler on Saturday.

Lows will be in the lower 20s, and highs will be in the mid 30s

Besides feeling like Ground Hog Day- it IS actually Winter Solstice!

This means it will be the shortest day of the year (not by much), but the sun will set later and later after today!

That means more sunshine/daylight is on the way!

On top of it being the Winter Solstice, it is also a full moon tomorrow morning (so best viewing time for fullest viewable moon will be tonight) AND the Ursid meteor shower.

The Ursid meteor shower will peak in a few days, but we could see as many as 10-20 meteors per hour!

Clouds increase as the night goes on, so it will be best to look up at the skies a little earlier rather than later.

Snow and calmer weather is on the way just in time for Christmas!
