At 928 PM MDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from near Lincoln to 22 miles southwest of
Wolf Creek to 17 miles west of Helena. Movement was northeast at 30
mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.
Locations impacted include…
Helena, East Helena, Wolf Creek, Marysville, York, Spring Meadow Lake
State Park, Canyon Creek, Black Sandy State Park and Austin.
This includes the North Hills Fire area in the northern Helena
Valley.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
