Ooey-gooey s’more treats without the hassle of lighting up a campfire and actually camping? Yes, please! S’mores cupcakes are perfect for bringing back those summer memories. Grilling in the backyard, churning homemade ice cream, swimming in a lake … who doesn’t want to relive those days?
Well, with these recipes, you can pretend you’re getting cozy around a campfire any time of the year. They’re also great for kids’ birthday parties, as you can get all the s’mores flavors without worrying about fire safety or sticky marshmallow messes.
The Hershey’s S’mores Cupcakes from blogger OMG Chocolate Desserts have been transformed from mere chocolate cupcakes into delicious s’mores desserts with the help of a graham cracker crust, a light and fluffy marshmallow filling and a topping of rich milk chocolate ganache. The filling on the inside is just an added bonus to an already over-the-top-cupcake. To fill the cupcake, all you need to do is cut the top off your baked cupcakes and gently hollow out the center to make room for the vanilla marshmallow filling.
And then the chocolate ganache puts this cupcake in a league of its own. Made with heavy whipping cream and milk chocolate, there’s no better way to top off this s’mores cupcake!
For a slightly different take on this cupcake, blogger Divas Can Cook features a recipe with marshmallow frosting on top instead of in the middle.
In the cupcake itself, she adds mini marshmallows and chunks of chocolate, making for an extra special surprise for those biting into the cake. Though if you’re looking for more of a gooey center, you can stick one jumbo marshmallow into the middle of the cupcakes instead.
Making this dessert more festive are the graham cracker crumbs on top, along with a chunk of Hershey’s chocolate. If you’re looking to get fancy, blogger Monique advises using a kitchen torch to toast the frosting, making it look and taste like your traditional toasted marshmallow.
We need s’more recipes like these. Am I right?
