GREAT FALLS — Great Falls confectionery Candy Masterpiece remodeled their candy store to fit the current takeout-only business climate, by taking their candy curbside. Now instead of browsing the rows of sweets, customers must place their orders ahead of time and receive them outside the shop.

In her 20 years of business, owner Angie Bruskotter has never run her store like this: “This is a brand new concept for Candy Masterpiece and the entire world."

But the committed confectioner was determined to satisfy her customers’ candy cravings: “We have had a few comments on facebook asking about Easter baskets asking about the holiday and if we could help them out in any way." So she proposed she open her doors but keep her customers at a distance: “At this time it is going to be phone orders only and curbside. That is the only way that we can keep all of the food and everything as clean as possible."

Bruskotter will be taking orders over the phone for half pound bags of bulk candy and fine chocolates, bagging them in the store, and then delivering them to customers outside the store upon their arrival.

In order to ensure that the staff aren’t spreading germs to customers, Bruskotter said they are doing their best to stay sanitary: “My employees and I are keeping ourselves clean and keeping the area clean as much as we can."

While she is doing her best to keep her business going during this difficult time, she stressed that she isn’t the only one adapting to a new mode of operation.

“I don’t want to be singled out. I want everybody to know that there are businesses up and down downtown that are going through this trying to figure out how they can work how they can do things. and it took me a while to kind of figure out the best way to get things to get this done,” Bruskotter said.

Candy Masterpiece is located at 120 Central Avenue in downtown Great Falls; hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here to visit the Facebook page and check out the menu.
