GREAT FALLS — All of Choteau is now on a "Boil Order" issued by the Mayor of Choteau, Chris Hindoien.

According to Mayor Hindoien, the city water supply has not been affected by the recent flooding.

There is flood water and ground water from sump pumps that have been found over water wells in Choteau residents backyards.

Mayor Hindoien also says this is a proactive attempt to make sure citizens stay safe.

The Montana DEQ has stated it may be weeks until the aquifer returns to normal.

If you want more information on what to do during a boil order you can find more information on this FAQ sheet.

We will update if we get more information on when the order will be discontinued.
