Obituary: Brendan Ray Rollins

Brendan Ray Rollins, twenty years old of Great Falls, Montana died Saturday, October 24, 2020, in the Sluice Boxes State Park. He was discovered by search and rescue teams from Belt Rural Volunteer Fire Dept. FWP, Cascade County Search and Rescue, Cascade County Sheriff’s department, with the assistance of Malmstrom AFB and many volunteers in the afternoon of Sunday, October 25. He and his friend had been camping in the park when a snowstorm began. The cause of death was determined to be hypothermia.

Brendan Ray Rollins, was born on June 4, 2000, in Billings, Montana and moved to Great Falls with his family in 2011. Brendan “navigated” his way toward Heaven Saturday, October 24. He was homeschooled, and after graduating, he attended MSU. He attended the MSU College Community Choir with his brother, Dominic and sang in Carnegie Hall in New York. He was a violinist in the Great Falls Symphony.

After high school, he worked at several jobs including detailing airplanes. He had been planning to start a business with his friend. He was a devoted member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Black Eagle. He faithfully attended Sunday Mass and frequently volunteered to help at the chapel. A devoted son and loving brother, he never missed a chance to show and prove it. He loved flying and had his student pilot’s license. He was full of ambitions and dreams, loved adventure, and aspired to go to Alaska. He always loved hiking ever since he was young, going often with his dad and brothers. Now he begins his greatest adventure.
