Obituary: Donald “Don” Michael Feist

Don M. Feist, 58, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 peacefully in his sleep at Peace Hospice after battling a long illness.

Don was born on January 3, 1961 in Great Falls, Montana at the old Columbus Hospital to Joseph and Lois (Durran) Feist. He went to school in Great Falls working at various places.

He traveled all over testing underground tanks at the various missile sites throughout the state of Montana. He also worked for Selstad Sod Farm and finally went to work as a CNA for home health care.

He enjoyed stock car races at the Electric City Speedway where he used to drive his own wrecker and played Karaoke in the pits. He watched a lot of wrestling, WWE, Raw, and Smack Down. He loved creating model cars and collecting gnomes.

Don has three children from his previous marriage. In 2005, he married the “love of his life,” Heidi. In 2006, they had a son, Joseph. Don and his family moved to Trailer Terrace, where he became the Co-Op President for many years.

He helped purchase the Park and also managed to get the upper court a new water and sewer system. He used to drive around the Park every day to make sure everything was okay.

In October 2016, he won the Dorothy Richardson Leadership Award. He traveled to Ohio where he presented with a medal and many other awards.

Don cared about the Park very much, but due to his illness, he had to step down from his position on The Co-Op Board. He will be dearly missed.
