Kelly Michael Wetzel, 57, left with the angels on December 23 while at home alone shortly after being discharged from the hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with a private burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. O’Connor Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Kelly was born November 2, 1961 in Great Falls, the youngest of four children to Billea and Frank Wetzel. He attended grade school at St. Joseph’s and graduated from C.M.R. High School in 1981. He attended Montana State University and then enlisted in the US Navy, where he worked as an electronic equipment repairman. He was discharged in 1984. Kelly then worked a short time in California and settled at Fort Collins, CO for over twenty years.
He attended vocational tech and worked in electronics for a time before moving back to Great Falls to be near family. Here he worked in construction, as a nurse attendant and at NEW.
Kelly was very kind, loved animals and always had pets. In his years back in Great Falls, he took in a homeless couple and others until they were back on their feet. He didn’t have much but shared what he had with friends.
