Obituary: Darren Lee Vielle Sr.

Darren Lee Vielle Sr, 48, of Great Falls, an Army veteran and cook, died of organ failure Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Peace Hospice.

The wake is on Thursday and Friday at Glacier Homes Center in Browning, the funeral is at Little Flower Parish at 11 A.M. on Saturday December 1st with burial in Willow Creek Cemetery.

Darren was born August 25 1970, in Browning, the son of William Vielle and Joyce Vielle (Little Bull). He graduated from Browning High School and then enlisted into the Army in 1988.

He married Rachel Kim Raya in Coeur de’ lane, Idaho on Feb 12, 1992 and they had three children.

He served in the Army National Guard and cooked at JB’s restaurant for over a decade. He went on to cook at the Bay Leaf Restaurant, the original Godfather’s pizza, the Prospector Casino, 4B’s, Chile’s and Denny’s. He is a pool league champion with his picture still hanging up in the Loading Zone Bar. In 2017 he won Best of Show at the C M Russell auction for his free hand drawing.

He was a very kind person, great sense of humor and willing to help with what he could. A promising artist who enjoyed going on long walks listening to music. He struggled with the deaths of his oldest son and wife. His family would like to thank everyone that helped him out during these last 15 years whether in Great Falls, Missoula or Butte.

He enjoyed playing billiards, Texas hold em, keno, watching the NFL, NBA and watching his favorite NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed watching Monday Night Football at the former 8 Ball Inn where he also played in pool leagues with his wife. B Bops was one of his favorite restaurants that was formerly in the mall. He was the number one fan of his two sons and loved them very much.

Survivors include his sons, William Vielle and Anthony Vielle, his father William Vielle, his mother Joyce Vielle (Little Bull), his brothers Francis and Fatty Vielle, his sister Shelly Vielle. He also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his oldest son Darren Lee Vielle Jr, his wife Rachel Kim Vielle and his grandparents Jim and Mable Little Bull.
