GREAT FALLS — NeighborWorks Montana is hosting virtual state-wide homebuyer education courses beginning on Monday, February 1st through Thursday, February 4th.
The topics for the four classes will cover the following areas:
- Monday – Assessing Homeownership Readiness
- Tuesday – Financing a Home
- Wednesday – Shopping for a Home
- Thursday – Maintaining a Home and Finances
“We are offering a four day state-wide homebuyer education course and each day a different partner is presenting on that topic,” said NWMT Housing Network assistant Logan Smith. “We’re really excited that the different partners will be able to really share their expertise and give a little bit of a look into these different topics.”
The four sessions will take two hours each and will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The price of registration is $35, which grants up to two people access to all four homebuyer courses.
The goal for these classes is to give homebuyers the confidence to enter into the currently booming housing market, that’s been on the rise since the beginning of 2020.
“I really do expect it to stay the same in 2021,” said realtors Ron and Debbie Dodd. “It may even get worse because as we’re rolling out the vaccine, people are going to free up to travel and people are going to vacate where they were.”
Those who complete all four classes and have a one-on-one with a housing counselor, will be issued a certificate to receive financial assistance on a new home.
