A resolution was introduced in the Montana House of Representatives this week that would honor survivors of sexual assault.

House Resolution No. 4 would designate November 6th as Sexual Assault Survivor’s Day each year. The day would recognize and honor the courage of survivors.

The resolution would also recognize secondary victims who provide support to loved ones affected by sexual assault.

Sexual Assault Survivor’s Day would help raise public awareness about victims of sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it.

The resolution was introduced by Democratic Rep. Kimberly Dudik of Missoula.

It will have its first hearing next week in the House Judiciary Committee.
