Check out this amazing full court shot!

Montana State University student Joe Thompson won $11,111 after sinking a shot during halftime at Saturday's basketball game between the Bobcats and the University of Montana Grizzlies.

He had to hit a layup for $1, and then a free throw for $10, followed by a three-point shot for $100. Then it got really hard: he had to hit a half-court shot for $1k, and then he topped it all off with the amazing full-court shot for $10k. Total: $11,111.

MSU posted the video on Twitter, and it has racked up more than 1.2 millions views as of Monday.

Thompson is a film-production major at MSU. He appeared on the Pat McAfee show on Youtube on Monday, and said the money will come in handy because his car broke down in December.

The "shootout" was sponsored by the Montana Rib & Chop House, and the restaurant posted on Twitter on Sunday: "So Cool! Way to go Joe! We're so happy to sponsor the Shootout and to see someone finally win!"

“I didn’t realize it went in at first. I was looking for the next ball to shoot again,” Thompson said. But a few seconds later, the crowd told Thompson everything he needed to know.

“As soon as everyone erupted, I knew it went in,” he said.

Thompson goes to almost every basketball game. “One of the guys from the sports properties asked if I wanted to do it. I said yes, and I was able to do well,” Thompson said.

And well is a modest way to put it. The average college basketball court is about 94 feet long.

Thompson’s own family couldn’t believe his luck. “My mom was like, you won $1,100, and I was like, no $11,000,” he said.

Thompson not only made the full court shot, but just before that, he made a half court shot.
