HELENA — Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Inman says a crash on York Road on Saturday east of Helena claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl.

According to Trooper Inman, the girl was headed west on York Road at around 11:15 a.m. when her vehicle went off the right side of the road and collided with a driveway approach near LaSalle Lane.

The vehicle rolled once. The teen was not wearing her seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.

She was flown to Benefis Health System in Great Falls, but Trooper Inman says the girl died from her injuries Sunday morning.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the crash.

The name of the girl has not yet been released.

(UPDATE, 9:18 pm) Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton has identified the teen as Shelby Descharme. Sheriff Dutton says that the next of kin have been notified.

He confirmed that the death was accidental, and the cause of death was the result of blunt force trauma.
