The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office released preliminary findings Friday for a deadly diving accident in Canyon Ferry Reservoir in June.
Jesse Hubbell, 40, of Somerville, Massachusetts, drowned on June 18 while shooting a promotional video.
Hubbell was with an out-of-state production company and shooting a video for John Mues, who was a prospective political candidate at the time.
An examination of the diving equipment and boat was completed and the examination found no deficiencies with the rented boat, according to the LCCSO.
The Sheriff's Office reported an evaluation of other items suggested equipment issues and diver inexperience may have been contributing factors in Hubbell's death.
Investigators are still waiting on air samples from the divers' tanks.
Mues and Hubbell were both in the water at the time Hubbell began having trouble. Mues attempted to help Hubbell, but was unsuccessful.
